About Giclee Printing

The word Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray.

Quality

The resulting print has no perceptible dot pattern, an endless array of richly saturated color, and every nuance of the original image. The most archival, water based light fast inks available in the world are used.

The Giclee is quickly becoming the new standard in the fine art industry, and is widely embraced for its astonishing quality by major museums, galleries, publishers and artists. A Giclee Print is quite simply the closest replication of an original artwork that is currently possible.

Ink and Paper

Archival pigmented inks are used, which have been tested to have a light fastness of over
100 years.

All prints are done using either a 7 color or 8 color inkjet printer using variable
droplet technology, creating beautiful continuous tone prints.

Printing is done on papers which are acid-free with no optical brighteners, and are made from 100% cotton.

Canvas

Canvas art prints are the ideal way to bring artwork alive, giving it a rich, textured look.  Usually you can find two canvas wrap options on two high quality fine art canvas choices, including a matte or gloss option that is sure to set your images apart.

Choosing canvas for your fine art prints is an excellent choice when you want to maintain all of the sophistication and simplicity while making an impressive impact with your art selection.

The giclee prints on canvas are created using long-lasting archival inks that have received permanence ratings that well exceed 100 years. In addition, the canvas prints are treated with a UV and water resistant coating that protects against fading and dust, ensuring your fine art canvas print will keep its original brilliance for generations.

How do I Care for my Giclée Print?

You can extend the life expectancy of a Giclée art print by not hanging them in direct sunlight or in rooms with excessive moisture. Care for them as you would any fine artwork on paper and they will reward you with many years of pleasure.
